Tamaki Fujie went over to U.K. after graduating from Rikko university in 2003. She entered Fashion Print department at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2005, after studying at Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. Tamaki worked for Alexander McQueen while in college and graduated in June 2009. Her graduate collection was taken up by several media such as dazed and confused digital and i-D Magazine. Tamaki established a design office, studioBLACKOPERA, in 2010 and works as textile designer. She started her own label, TAMAKI FUJIE, from 2013 S/S collection.

studioBLACKOPERA is a design office, led by Tamaki Fujie (designer) and Takahiro Inomoto (art director). They work in the field of fashion, textile, graphic design and web design.
