Tao Kurihara showed the Fall/Winter 2022-23 collection at COMME des GARÇONS headquarters in Tokyo.The brand name has been changed from "tricot COMME des GARÇONS" to "tao," and the 2022-23 Fall/Winter collection will be held in Tokyo for the second season.

It was announced at the headquarters of COMME des GARÇONS in Aoyama. It presented a powerful style that mixes colors, patterns, and diverse textures excessively, as opposed to the last time when white was the main color. Designer Tao Kurihara is claimed to have started with the materials for the 2022-23 Fall/Winter collection. The strength of the Tao style was underlined by the approach of layering and fusing all patterns and materials.

The reversible jackets with various impressions on the front and back, and the printed pattern has a retro motif with a worn-out quality that makes you feel nostalgic. Patchwork and sashiko are also printed on Trompe-l'oeil, and a three-dimensional botanical pattern print that resembles stitching is blended, all while maintaining a delicate balance and technique. Knitwear in collaboration with Yamagata 山形市／やまがたし Prefecture's knitwear brand "Batoner" has made its presence stand out from the middle of the show.

The colors are only white, ivory, and black, but various techniques such as patchwork of different knitted fabrics, fringes of yarn, and three-dimensional flowers are woven to show various expressions. The volume of feminine clothing such as the boa with repeated laces and the down jacket with georgette as the exterior material overlaps, and cooperation boots with UGG rise even further.
