"Tricot COMME des GARÇONS" changed its brand name to "tao", announced the Spring / Summer 2022 collection in Japan.

On October 19th, "Tricot COMME des GARÇONS" altered the brand designation to "tao". Tao Kurihara 栗原大 continues to be the designer. The Spring/Summer 2022 collection takes a variety of techniques to express "white" as a color that represents the new Tao brand name.

In 1981, Trico COMME des GARÇONS was founded. Since 2002, Rei Kawakubo has passed the designer on to Junya Watanabe and Tao Kurihara. In the fall and winter of 2005-06, Kurihara founded "Tao Comme des Garçons," which bears her name, and announced it at Paris Fashion Week, but it terminated in the spring and summer of 2011. Tricot COMME des GARÇONS will stop using the company name Comme des Garcons in the spring/summer 2022 season, and will exclusively use the brand name "Tao" from then on. and will simply restart with the brand name of "Tao" only.

The first show under the "Tao" name will be held at the COMME des GARÇONS headquarters in Aoyama. The collection entitled "my white" is based on white, off-white, and ivory, and proposes a silhouette with a variety of volumes using gathers, lace, frills, and ruffles. Elaborate construction, delicate materials, and dolly style are reminiscent of Tao's creations during her COMME des GARÇONS era.

On the way, a black portion is placed, and the Tao-developed proposal for everyday wear continues. A double-named pajama shirt with the Yamato shirt store is also planned, albeit it will not appear in the program.

T-shirts printed with Geoffrey Preston's relief work, sleeves with tulle, and Mary Janes with embroidery and tulle were also included. She focused on white as "selfishness" in the first season and enlarged the universe with various expressions.

This season, COMME des GARÇONS has dropped the word "GARÇONS" from the brand names "Junya Watanabe" and "Junya Watanabe Man." Junya Watanabe, Tao Kurihara, and Kei Ninomiya's "noir kei ninomiya" of Comme des Garcons will establish their businesses under their own names starting in 2022.
