COMME des GARÇONS x Brett Westfall 2021

Brett Westfall, a multidisciplinary artist, has been touring his "Signs of Life" exhibition since Fall 2020, stopping at These Days Los Angeles, COMME des GARÇONS Trading Museum Tokyo, Dover Street Market LA, and NY, and now One Grand Gallery Portland — and to commemorate the exhibition's end, the artist has collaborated with COMME des GARÇONS on a limited-edition capsule collection.

The "Signs of Life" show, which combines his work with that of his daughter Moon Westfall and electronic artist Baseck, is the centerpiece of the collection. 

The Nike Air Carnivore collaboration from COMME des GARCONS HOMME PLUS has been updated with hand-painted strawberries and "FRESH" branding on the back, while shirts and oversized T-shirts (COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT) have been updated with more strawberry and "FRESH" marking in the same concept.

Brett Westfall launched his own label Unholy Matrimony in 2002, which closed in 2011. He is known for dabbling in painting, assemblage, drawing, installation, fashion, video, film, and photography. 

However, this allowed him to form a friendship with Rei Kawakubo, which led to his working on COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS collections and founding and running a COMME des GARÇONS Guerrilla store in Los Angeles.
