【ambi designunit 2021 collection “ghostat”】

At Y's Omotesando is installing a series of interior elements that have uniqueness like ambi sculptures.

ambi is a design unit established by Shun Koike and Shohei Kobayashi. They graduated from Musashino Art University and started activities based in Tokyo in 2018. ambi focuses on various phenomena in the world and designs furniture, lighting, and interior spaces.

ghost

These are interior element series that combines the function of furniture with the uniqueness of sculptures. ambi is particular about unique materials and production approaches that are different from machine-produced items. The theme of this collection is ghost, and they portray a mysterious atmosphere that gives a sense of floating.

Zero gravity:

This is an umbrella stand that seems to have been freed from gravity. It is molded by pouring mixed material into the tube. Although it has the weight of mixed material, it has a light expression as if it were floating.

Floatting cloth

A chair shaped like a soft cloth. Each piece has a different shape as if the moment of the cloth fluttering in the wind was cut out. While the drape expresses the softness of the cloth, it functions as a rib that maintains strength.

Exhausted duct light

A stand light with the concept of "carrying light". By changing the shade, the direction of light can be freely guided. Since there is a light source in the center, the amount of light can be adjusted by expanding and contracting the shade.
