The brand name was changed from tricot COMME des GARÇONS to tao タオ in February 2022. 

On the 3rd level of the Isetan Shinjuku store main building (伊勢丹新宿店), Isetan holds the first POP UP shop in Japan as tao at Center Park / Promotion. Designer Tao Kurihara 栗原たお氏 presented a lineup of items that represent her personality in various whites for the theme "My White." It's a collection that combines voluminous products with gathered frills and tulle, as well as floral designs, lace, and embroidery, to create a collection that is both strong and sweet.

Tao Kurihara's profile 

Joined COMME des GARÇONS after graduating from Central Martin (British University of the Arts). 

She was the designer for Tricot COMME des GARÇONS in 2002. 

In 2005, she launched her own label, "tao COMME des GARÇONS," at the same time. In the 2011 Spring/Summer collection, the brand "tao COMME des GARÇONS" was discontinued. 

Tricot COMME des GARÇONS as Tao Kurihara will relaunch as a new "tao" starting with the Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
